NSW: Police release image of alleged car yard robber

SYDNEY, April 9 AAP - Police have released an image of one of 13 men who stormed into
a Sydney car yard and allegedly assaulted three workers before stealing 12 cars worth
half a million dollars.

The men walked through the gates of the Shepherd Street car dealership at Liverpool
in southwest Sydney about 6am (AEDT) on February 14, police say.

"The group allegedly assaulted three male employees, before locking one of them in
the boot of a car and the other two in a separate vehicle," police said in a statement.

"The men then allegedly stole keys from the premises before driving off with 12 cars.

Police will allege the estimated total value of stolen vehicles is $500,000."

The three staff members suffered minor injuries.

Seven of the vehicles have since been recovered - a grey Holden Barina, a black VW
Passat, a black Holden Commodore SV6, a white VW R32 Golf, a blue VW Golf, a black Mitsubishi
Lancer, and a white Mitsubishi Triton dual-cab utility.

Five vehicles remain missing - a white Mazda 3, a black Subaru Impreza WRX, a green
Holden Commodore SV6, a black VW Golf, and a grey VW Golf.

Detectives on Thursday released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist
their inquiries.

The image shows a man dressed in dark trousers and jacket, wearing joggers and a red
baseball cap. He has dark hair and is unshaven.

Anyone with information about the man's identity, the February 14 incident, or the
whereabouts of any of the stolen cars is asked to contact police.
