Tas: Tasmanian Labor torn over promise to give up power

Tasmanian Labor will decide at a caucus meeting of its 10 newly elected MPs today whether
to honour Premier DAVID BARTLETT's promise to give away power to the Liberals .. or to
honour those who voted for the party to stay in government.

Tasmanian Liberal leader WILL HODGMAN has cocked a trigger to shoot down Labor should
Labor renege on the BARTLETT promise to hand over power in the event of an evenly split
hung parliament.

He's set his sights on a no-confidence motion if Mr BARTLETT goes back on his pledge
to yield power in the event of a tie in the March 20 election.

The make-up of the next Tasmanian assembly will be a 10-10-five split of Liberal ..

Labor .. and Greens .. respectively.
